SAND is the ERC-20 token that will be used in The Sandbox as the basis for all ecosystem transactions and interactions.

A smart contract is a piece of code that runs on a blockchain. Sandbox is currently running on the Ethereum blockchain, but we are working on supporting multiple chains in the near future. So why is it called a contract? Because it works like a traditional agreement; is a computer protocol that requires transactions to be performed without the need for third parties. Since the code is stored in the Ethereum blockchain, it is immutable. For this reason, it is the perfect tool to control valuables, such as Ether or other digital resources. Ethereum inventor Vitalik Buterin defined them in the Ethereum White Paper, where he explained that smart contracts are "systems that automatically move digital assets according to arbitrary predefined rules".

SAND is the ERC-20 utility token based on Ethereum which will be the medium of exchange within The Sandbox. An unlimited number of times can be transferred between users for P2P transactions such as the purchase or sale of land or game goods (the land is part of the Metaverse open to the player's property, while the property is a player-created token). In addition, an interesting feature of this token is that it can accumulate value over time, due to the fact that it is scarce. There will be a limited supply of 3 billion units of SAND available. In addition to these incredible features, once SAND is released, players will be able to wager it within our game. This means that users will be able to target SAND within games within The Sandbox to increase the chances of finding game resources.
